Seacoast United back Harry Bertos
When it came to choosing a college destination, Harry Bertos (Bedford, Mass.) was willing to travel as far as it takes, as long as it resulted in an opportunity to play for one of the nation’s premier soccer programs.
Recently, he made his decision, choosing a school that is more than 3,000 miles from his home and does indeed offer the chance to play for a soccer powerhouse.
Bertos, a Class of 2023 center back/defensive midfielder for Brooks School and Seacoast United Academy, has committed to the University of Washington of the mighty Pac-12. The Huskies lost to Clemson, 2-0, in last fall’s national championship and have played in six straight NCAA Tournaments.
“I was looking at schools around the country and I knew I wanted to play high-level soccer and get a good education,” said Bertos. “Washington was somewhere I looked at early on.”
